It’s Volunteers Week and what a wonderful initiative to celebrate and honour the UK’s wonderful volunteers.
I would like to take this opportunity of thanking the army of volunteers operating in South Holland and. literally the millions working hard and for the benefit of their local communities throughout the UK. These people offer their services for no return and can be under-appreciated and sometimes their contribution is sometimes not even recognised.
During May this year, I attended many Church Flower Festivals and the Johnson Community Hospital Fayre – all run by volunteers. These just wouldn’t go ahead if no-one could be bothered.
On a personnel note, I am extremely grateful and humbled when I find out on a day to day basis the amazing work volunteers do. It’s not a political thing, it’s not a gender thing, there are young children, teenagers, mums, dads grandparents everyone doing their bit to give something back to their local community.
The amount of money volunteers save the Country is phenominal and, the frightening thing is, if the Government paid this Army of Volunteers, then austerity would go on forever.
I am delighted to pay tribute to you all and I wish you all the happiness in the world and thank you from the bottom of my heart for your kindness, charity and thoughtfulness. I hope whatever you wish for you get. God bless you all.
